Meet Mona : The passionate soul behind Seaouregypt's luxury travel experiences
My name is Mona, l live between Montreal, Canada and Harlem, NY. I’m an Egyptian Nubian. Two different identities.
From a young age, l have spent many of my summers in Egypt, traveling and exploring its ancient history, indulging in its delicacies, and relaxing at its breathtaking destinations. I realized the impact traveling has on the spirit and what it can do for one’s growth.
I started this company due to my interest in hospitality which is inherent in Egyptian and Nubian culture.
Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Nubian history is vast and full of treasures. As such, l feel a great need to share its ancient richness and current cultural dynamics with those traveling to this marvelous country. Travelling with « Sea Our Egypt » values and highlights the culture of the unforgettable scenic destination. I feel immersing yourself in new cultures can be invigorating and offer a wealth of knowledge.

Nubian History
Nubians are an ethno linguistic group of people who are indigenous to the region of Southern Egypt and Northern Sudan. We don't have a country of our own and thus our land is along the Nile of both countries. After the construction of the controversial High Dam, 46 Villages were destroyed and 100,000 nubians were displaced from their homes.
The pyramids in Sudan were also built by the Nubian Empire, home tou around 220 pyramids and temples, more than there are in the whole of egypt. Partially destroyed by Italian treasure hunter Giuseppe Ferlini in the 1830's in a ruthless attempt to discover ancient artifacts.
This civilization has often been misrepresented and overlooked for centuries, partly due to our blackness and their conflict with ancient Egypt, Nubia was considered one of Egypt's enemies, though it ruled over Egypt for over 100 years.
The Havard Egyptologist George Reisner stated "The native negroid race had never developed either its trade or any industry worthy of mention and owed their cultural position to the Egyptian immigrants and to the imported Egyptian civilization" in a 1918 bulletin for Boston's Museum Fine Arts after viewing the ruins of the Nubian settlement of Kerma. One among many archeologists who could not conceive the idea of a progressive ancient Black civilizatoin achieve this much power and succes.
Many of ancient Nubia's artifacts were originally mistaken for Egyptian artifacts. Nubians and Egyptians were often so closely related that some archeologists consider them practically indistinguishable, as the two cultures blended and mixed together during the New Kingdom.
Nubia being one of the oldest civilizations in the world and ranking as one of the greatest, there is still much to be discovered. Many people are unaware modern Nubians exist today, we have our own language, tribes, many dialects, we are knonw for our beautiful colorful and bright clothing and housing, beautiful unique music and dances.
